I always leave the fridge lit, and have, on occasion, run the heater 
while traveling. This is with an Argosy motorhome, not a trailer, 
although I did leave my trailer fridge lit when I had Airstreams with 
propane refrigerators. Some people have a cow about this practice, and 
they are entitled to their opinion (as I am to mine)... but there is 
often more than one way to do something. I suspect that many more fires 
are caused by smoking while driving than by lit refrigerators...

I wouldn't hesitate to leave the heater run while on the road, if 
necessary. Or even a stove burner or two, if the heater didn't like 
running in the wind. Better than frozen pipes, IMHO. No doubt it is 
safest to turn off the propane at the tanks. But then, it's much safer 
to leave your rig parked in your driveway than it is to take it out on 
the highway. We each weigh the risks of our actions against the benefits.
