Re: [A/S] Hunters setup
With DISH network, all of the "basic cable" type programming comes from the
119. Even the majority of the premium movie channels, I think. Those of us
who have the basic package (I have the "America's Top 50" - which is more
like 60 - 70 channels when you throw in the freebie public-access channels
from a few universities, etc. I also get both coasts commercial networks as
well as PBS) presently need only a single LNB. My rooftop Winegard
single-satellite single LNB dish antenna gives me all this. If I were to
step up to the higher-priced packages I would still be able to access most
of the package, but would lose a few channels. I don't receive any
"spot-beam" local channels - those that receive these would probably need a
dual-LNB setup.
I heard somewhere that DISH actually has two satellites at this same 119
position, which sort of doubles the number of channels from this one slot.
All that said, if I ever replace the roof-top dish on the AS, I will make
sure it has the capability to handle two satellites. The future is coming.
