Re: [A/S] Hunters setup
I bought my manually operated (from inside the AS) dish a couple years ago
from these guys:
http://www.starkelectronic.com/wing2.htm
At a much better price than I could find at any RV store. It is the
standard WineGard product. Currently:
RM-4600 MANUAL DSS RV ANTENNA SYSTEM NOW ONLY $159
I don't remember if I had to pay shipping. Probably so. I got the deluxe
edition with the broadcast antenna atop the dish, but wouldn't do it again.
It was about $60 more and I don't think I have ever used the broadcast TV
feature.
NOTE - the standard manual dish can get only one satellite at a time. To
receive ALL the channels on either DISH or DIRECTV you need to access two
satellites. This takes either the dish intended for home use and sold by
DISH/DIRECTV with the deluxe receiver, or some means or moving your RV dish
back and forth between these satellites. It appears the WineGard RM-8000
(at about $800) will cycle back and forth as needed.
I always carry an extra portable dish, cable, and tripod with me in case
the one atop the AS is blocked.
