[A/S] Catalytic Heaters

This subject should create a good discussion.
In a message "The Grand Experiment" a9464..... (Arnie) refers to the
use of a catalytic heater. I see catalytic heaters advertised in
Trailer Life who are obviously targeting this market. Any heater
that uses a hydro carbon fuel MUST produce CO2 and if the O2 level
becomes low it will them produce CO. Now CO2 may not be toxic but
it will not sustain life either. Now CO that is another matter, it
is toxic.
I live in a Canada and it is not totally uncommon for usually hunters
to use some form of unventilated heat in a camper and the whole crew
end up dead.
I would NEVER use a a catalytic heater in an RV paticulatly if I were
asleep.
Is it common for people in those climates where the night time
temperatures get down around the freezing mark to use cataltic
heaters to supplement the trailer heat?

Some people must be using them if Trailer Life advetise them.
