A body man who specializes in work on VERY expensive vintage Rolls Royce 
cars, some of which had aluminum bodies, says that SLOW pressure, and not 
too much of it, are the key to using suction cups on the metal.  It is not going 
to POP with as much force as steel, and moves more slowly.  He showed me a 
whole variety of cups and plungers, most made devices, with a handle of some 
sort attached that allowed directional outward pull.  
His advice: Do not assume that the dent occurred with a blow at absolute 
right angle to the surface, determine any angle present, and apply force in 
the exact opposite direction, (imagine a billiard ball hitting a table 
cushion, pull along the line of it's rebound) using a cup if possible that 
covers at least a third of the total area, thus minimizing stretch to a small 
area.
Free advice for what it's worth, LOL, he does get paid astronomical prices 
for such work.
