Re: [A/S] Running the Refrig while towing?
Chuck,
I always run the fridge while travelling, that doesn't hurt it. The
bouncing and wiggling keeps the chemicals circulating, so no harm is done.
If I'm going to be stopped for more than about 15 minutes, I try to have the
trailer level or shut the fridge down.
The fridge must be shut off while fueling to eliminate any possibility of
fire from the gasoline fumes. Note that if you have a newer fridge with
electronic ignition, shutting off the propane doesn't get it, as the unit
will try to restart, with the attendant sparking at the burner. You must
select "Off" on your control panel.
You should be aware that there is a huge controversy about towing with the
fridge operating on propane. Many people simply won't do it, others think
that the risk of spoiled food is much higher than the small additional risk
associated with having the propane system 'On'. It's up to you.
