[A/S] RE:ADVICE for TX camping near....

Happy 2003! Hope this year is better than last, in fact the last 2 years
were not that great!!

Anyway,we are leaving snowy Ohio for points west, and would love your
advice on where to stay in the following areas.

New Orleans, Galveston  (Padre Island-do they have campgrounds out on
the islands themselves?) Corpus Christi and Mission TX.

Basically the gulf coast of TX> 

I went to the Corps of Engineers site and printed off the list for TX,
but they did not list the city nearest the parks so it is hard to use
unless you know TX geography well. We are going back to BIG BEND
again...it is truly "Out of this World"!
We really love the border areas and would appreciate any tips on this
list or privately.

Thanks for all the wonderful posts, I read EVERYTHING. It is a great
stress reducer and even the technical stuff is interesting.  Some day I
hope to surprise my husband when something comes up, I'll have the
answer and he'll wonder how I got so smart! Maybe I should sign him up
for the list too!!! I think I will when we come back.
