Re: [A/S] Hello and a Question
Teresa, welcome to the list.
If you haven't discovered RV Trader Online, try this URL:

They have listings for new and old Airstreams, or any other make of RV. It
is a good place to see what is available from private individuals or on
dealer lots. There are a number of other sites available for used
Airstreams. As Patti said, you need to be willing to shop around and travel
to a distant dealer to get the "best deal" on a new unit. Our home was in KY
at the time, and we bought a new 1999 27 ft. Safari about three years ago
from a dealer in Michigan. On a new unit, any dealer should recognize the
factory warranty, but we are close enough to the factory that we have
returned there for all required warranty work.
Trailers are like cars in that you take a big hit on depreciation the first
few years. We considered strongly buying a vintage unit, but we gave up
after about a one year search. We found a number of units that were really
nice, but, with my work schedule at the time, they were all sold before we
could schedule a trip to look at them.
Also, as you look at a trailer, keep in mind the tow vehicle you will be
using. If you want to use an existing vehicle, that may narrow your search
for the "perfect" Airstream. Do not overload your tow vehicle.
