Hot Water Method...Very Low Tech...In the morning, when the tanks are cool
(and the propane is cool), grab the empty coffee pot, fill with hot water
and pour down one side of the propane tank.  Start at the bottom of the tank
and feel slowly up the side...The propane inside will quickly cool the metal
of the tank...When you feel the temperature change to hot as you travel up
the tank, you'll know how full or empty your tanks are.

The LP level strips don't stick to my aluminum tanks...They're
magnetic...But they work on the same principle, sensing the temperature of
the liquid propane in the tank.
