The UV rays cause damage to the sidewalls and contribute to 
premature "aging" of the tires. Because trailers are only pulled a 
few miles each year the tires can "rot away" long before they wear 
out. It is thought that after three years a tire starts to suffer 
irregardless of the mileage. We don't worry about our passenger 
vehicles because we normally wear out a set of tires every three or 
so years.   Arnie
