Re: [A/S] Tow 34' wide body with 6 liter GMC

Rick, the 2002 GMC trailering guide says Yukon XL with a 6.0 L needs to be a
3/4 ton and have a 4.10 axle ratio to be rated for 9800 lbs. (9500 lbs. max.
with 4X4). They rate the 1500HD 2 WD pickup for 10,300 pounds max. trailer
weight with a 4.10 rear end. If you go up to the 2500 HD 2WD, the maximum
trailer weight with a 4.10 axle ratio is 10,500 pounds.

Tim Taylor (Tool Time) had it right when he said "more power". I have a GMC
2500 HD with a Duramax to pull a 1999 27 ft. Safari. I know this is an
"overkill", but I didn't like being underpowered with a 5.7 L that I had
earlier in a 1500 4X4 GMC.
