No, metal mirrors, even shiny ones, are not perfect reflectors.  Trailer 
roofs usually get less attention than the visible parts plus, they are more 
or less horizontal surfaces, and probably get a layer of some kind of crud 
on them, even after polishing (and, Aluminum oxides almost instantly).  You 
might be surprised at how quickly the reflectivity of an aluminum surface 
degrades.
