The artical says Draw-Tite is a timer controller that generates an 
output signal that increases with the amount of time you keep your 
foot on the brake pedal. It doesn't know weather your'e braking 
gently or your in the middle of a panic stop. The rate the controller 
applies the brakes bears no relationship to how hard you are pressing 
the brake or how quickly you want to slow down your vehicle.  Its 
goes on to say the Prodigy uses a technology from the military 
aerospace industry called accelerometer, which is used to determine 
how much g-force is being subjected to aircraft when preforming 
maneuvers.
