Greetings - I thought I'd offer a couple of suggestions 
to both of you via one reply - as you both are from the 
UK.
This might be obvious information - but just in case I'd 
like to point you towards all of the archived 
information (via e-mail) regarding Airstreams - that has 
been put together by Tom Patterson - at 
www.TomPatterson.com.
It's a large site - so you'll choose his "Airstream" 
section - and then from there go to the archives. It 
takes patience - but it's an amazing amount of 
information waiting to be shared. Also just in case 
you've not tracked down any Airstream support in the UK 
you will find there is a site at www.eurostream.co.uk
You can also find these same addresses on the Vintage 
Airstream website - www.airsteam.net - then go to 
Resources and then to Links.
I would think that if you are importing an Airstream to 
the UK you would find that the information available in 
the UK regarding "importing" would be just as valuable 
as the information available in the US on "exporting".
From what I've read on importing cars to the UK...you 
really need to know what's to be expected so you'll have 
fewer surprises. No doubt no two situations are the 
same...so there is always something new to learn...!
Marie - you mention you are looking for a polisher - and 
there's no one polishing aircraft in the UK. Might I 
suggest you research the vintage car arena. The UK is 
famous for their craftsmanship when it comes to hand 
crafting metal. Occasionally you will see a sports car 
or vintage car that is left in bare metal - with a 
polished finish. I might suggest - you research the old 
car market. I would check with a local restoration 
facility if one is within reasonable distance. Maybe 
what they use or know of would be compatible with your
