OK, then you probably have a similar setup as in my
Safari.  I don't have the trailer home so I can't give
you my measurements, but be aware that that cabinet is
very warm.  It sits over the fridge and the heat from
it tends to congregate in there.  We do not place any
foodstuffs in this area.  If you place a microwave
there, be sure to not build a tight surround for it. 
I spoke to my dealer about this and he said the heat
in this compartment is normal.

I remember my previous SOB trailer which had a built
in microwave.  I had to remove it for repair and found
it was nothing more than a table top unit plugged into
an electrical outlet.  The manufacturer of my trailer
had some nice louvers that closed up the gap between
the top of the microwave and the cabinet.  That
allowed good ventilation of the heat from the unit.
