Bet if you put a little talcum powder on the rubber seals that would eliminate the 
problem.  I'd just put a little in my palm of one hand and use one finger of the other 
to rub the talc (aroma your choice) on the rubber where it touches the glass.  Should 
last quite a while, and is always handy to restore when necessary.

Talc is what rubber manufacturers use to keep pieces from sticking in shipment. 
(Unless I have been mis-informed.)
