Don't know much about tires, except that the tire wear pattern is
typical of underinflation.

As far as the battery not being charged, I had a simular thing just
sorted out by my A/S dealer. I had a loose connection at the junction
box near the converter. Two wires that attach to the panel of my 74, had
worked loose and the connector had to be pinched up a bit tighter in
order to stay on the panel. Why A/S decided to use a friction fit
connection in this area, I have no idea. Seems to me to be  good place
for a loop and nut holder.
