Hi Lisa.  I cannot answer your question directly, as my Airstream is 
a 1983 Excella.   However, if memory serves me right, American cars 
switched from 6 volts to 12 volts in the mid 1950's.  I assume 
trailer manufacturers did the same.  You should try to figure out if 
you have 6 or 12.

Do you have a refrigerator?  Is it "two way" which means 110 volt 
power and gas.  Or three way, which means 110volt/gas/12 volt.  You 
will find that the refrigerator is the most expensive appliance in 
the Airstreams.
