[A/S] Preferred flooring, please...

So it's time to replace the original rug in my '72 Argosy - it's that 
short-pile goldish carpet that was popular back then.  What do you 
guys (figure of speech - gals, too! and probably more important, 
styling-wise) like for flooring?  I seem to remember references to 
some kind of bamboo flooring.  In any case, I've gotta get away from 
rug, but am always weight-conscious...any good ideas?
