You have a job ahead.  I watched closely as a technician did this
for me the first time.  Cost about $75 'cause the guy really knew
what he was doing.  Took him about 1 hour.
The trim strip at the top of the tub hides a row of rivets that
hold the tub in place.  Peel off the trim strip and drill out the
rivets.  This gets you access to the copper piping lines behind.
Some technicians can and do fix leaks by soldering over the split.
Others cut out the split and either solder a new piece in place or
use compression fittings and a short piece of copper tubing to
span the gap.
After fixing the leak, test the system before re-assembly of the
tub.
To re-assemble, use pop rivets into the drilled-out original
holes.  Then, replace the trim strip.  It will look good as new.
