[A/S] Precision Temp tankless heater update

Hi All,

I gave the Precision Temp tankless hot water heater a run through this
weekend. I have decided to keep it absolutely separate from the Attwood
in the A/S. If any of you do decide to put one in the unit, it comes with
a really nice flush mount polished door that matches the A/S skin.

Anyway, I built a 1/4 plywood box to the appropriate dimensions. It is
braced
on all inside straights and corners with 2x2 pine. This makes it plenty
solid
enough for it's task. The bottom of the box also has two 2x2 strips to keep
it off the ground. The entire box is stained inside and out and caulked
inside
for waterproffing. Don't get any kind of treated wood or you won't be able
to stain it. Also, be sure to get stainless steel screws. Don't use nails
because
the box wouldn't stand up for long.

 I purchased a two stage auto switchover regulator, two 5lb Acme gas bottles
and the appropriate connectors at Camping world. Also purchased a 2ft gas
line with the required 3/8 flare there also. I then went to Home Depot and
got the proper brass  adaptor to go 
from the other end of the gas line to the regulator.

From Home Depot I got male garden hose compression fittings for the 1/2
copper
hot and cold lines coming from the precision temp. I also got two 4ft
washing
machine connection hoses. These are very strong and have the required female
garden hose fittings on both ends. 

I found a nice spot on the A/S to put a male garden hose connection that
hooks
into the hot water line. On my unit there is a cedar closet pretty much
above
the wheels on the curbside. The bottom lifts out to get to the water pump
and
other assorted goodies. On the aluminum skin covering the bottom under this
area is a cutout held by screws, used for maintenance. There is also a handy
hot water line going to the sink. Presto! Hooked in there and put a normal
plastic male garden hose fitting with cutoff on the underbelly. Also put a
cutoff
inside in case the outside fitting got trashed somehow.

There is easy access to 2amp DC in the current Attwood outside access.
Haven't put in a nice connector yet, but will do so soon. 

I hook up to cold water from the outside faucet on the A/S. Inside, bothe
the
hot and cold valves to the Attwood are off, and the bypass valve is also
closed. This isolates hot from cold. No backflow preventer is necessary
because
the heater holds almost no water.

It works and it works well! Ran hot water for 30min, using city water. This
post
is getting Way long, so I'll quit now.
