Harvey just to pile on here,  I forgot the magic
temperature fluid point was but I remember the life of
transmission fluid is exponentially increased by
bringing the temp down.  I'm not sure if 200 is that
point since most transmission coolers are intregal
within the tow vehicle's radiator.  As I understand
it, your transmission temp when using the intregal
cooler will never be lower than the water temperature.
 Higher yes, but lower no.  

My point in all of this is the reason why external
transmission cooler instructions always tell you to
take the transmission fluid output line from the
radiator into your external cooler.  Reversing the
lines will take your cooled transmission fluid from
the external cooler back into the hot radiator and
negate the cooling.  

I know some folks do this on purpose to prevent over
cooling of the fluid.  Whether this technique
completely negates the cooling is something I haven't
researched.  Supposedly the better newer external
coolers may limit the amount of fluid accepted when
temperatures are cold.  I know it took longer for my
old Oldsmobile transmission to shift smoothly in the
winter after I added the external cooler.
