RE: [A/S] A few Overlander questions
I would have to say I agree as well with Max on this. I know tires seem
a little pricey being new, but you never know what problems the used
tires may have if any. Leaks, cracks, Dry rot, and God forbid it turn
out to be a RE-TREAD! Normally I might consider a used tire on just a
regular vehicle if it looked good, and the weight load on the vehicle
was low to normal. But on something as heavy as a trailer, and as
expensive as the body work can be in a blow-out, no I would have to say
I would shop around for new tires.
It might not hurt though to have one as an emergency Spare tire. We are
forced to buy new tires for our van as the 16.5" rim tires are hard to
find used. Definitely get an alignment too. And rotate the tires
occasionally as it will extend the life on the tires greatly.
