[A/S] '68 Airstream

Lawrence,

You're joking right? Right??

Do yourself and your family a favor. Contact your nearest Airstream dealer
and purchase a brand new Airstream. It will be cheaper than the project you
are showing us and will offer you and your family the opportunity to begin
enjoying travel with an Airstream before your children graduate from college
and you begin to seriously consider long-term care insurance.

As a general rule of thumb, every aluminum skin panel that must be replaced
will cost approximately $1000 parts and labor. From the photos you showed
us, I estimate you will require 20 new panels. And that estimate is only
valid for later model trailers for which pre-formed and sized replacement
panels are available. For a '68 trailer, even finding the replacement
panels will be a challenge and may be impossible.

After seeing the exterior of the trailer, we can only guess at the condition
of the interior and systems. I would guess that your trailer will also
require replacement of the electrical system, fresh water system, propane,
refrigerator, water heater, furnace, univolt converter, brakes, suspension,
tires, upholstery, cabinets, and a few other miscellaneous items.

$40,000 should do it.

Good luck in your project.

Harvey
