Hunter you are not alone on this issue.  I'm still
agonizing over putting mine on too.  I'm leaning
towards not....I saw someone use their gas bottle
cover as an alternative.  Another at the Jackson
Service Center placed them to the right of the door
below the window.  In both cases they used smaller red
numbers.  I also saw the numbers on a clear plastic
placard at the rally where I joined last fall.
