There have been several discussions in the past about the use of "flawed" parts. The 
Argosy shared many parts with Airstreams of the same year. In some cases the Argosy 
had features the Airstream didn't such as the big front wrap windows. The Argosy was 
often used as a test bed for future Airstream products. Some were used like the front 
wrap windows, and some were not like the one piece upper cap made of steel. Airstream 
built their first motorhome under the Argosy name for 5 years before they put Airstream on one.
Different yes, flawed no.
Useless tidbit: the interior wood of the 61 Bambi was finished with a combination 
paint/varnish referred to as a pickled finish. This was done because the wood was 
visually flawed and had been rejected by the production line for the "expensive" 
Airstreams. This according to the guy who did the interior finish for Airstream.
