While I don't have the experience I do remember the
looking at the narrow bodies at the local RV show
years ago.  Personally I felt somewhat "entombed" and
never stepped into an A/S again until last year...the
difference was quite noticeable to me.  That
difference was one of the selling points in moving me
from the dark side.

Check out the pictures that I posted in the file
section and you will see the difference (exterior
wise).  It's more than just the six inches of width. 
Note the walls and how the body opened up towards the
roofline.
