Re: [A/S] truck to trailer wiring, 61 Bambi
Eric,
Four wire plugs of any shape are not intend for use with a trailer that has brakes.
The wire gauge and plug are not capable of carrying the current to properly activate
brakes. The industry does not make reverse adapters, that is an adapter that connects
from a lower pin count on the tow vehicle to a higher pin count on the trailer, for
this reason. The right way to do it is to have the truck updated with a seven pin
socket. If you still need the four pin flat socket there are adapter's that will
provide that.
The 61 Bambi came with a separate circuit for 12V which provided an outside socket to
connect a battery to the coach. Reason being there was no provision for a battery
inside the coach.
