I don't understand it that way based on what I was
told and how it is explained on their web site.
Depreciation comes in normally once the damage total
is arrived at. If the damage total is greater than
the depreciated value of your trailer, you total the
trailer and get the depreciated cash payment. If the
damage is less, you get the damage fixed.
In the case of the Foremost policy, in the first five
years if the cost of repair is greater than new
comparable A/S, Foremost buys you a new trailer...even
if it costs more than your original purchase price. On
years 6 through 10 if the damage repair cost is
greater than the original cost of my trailer, I am
given a cash payment equal to the cost of my trailer.
Starting year 11 the value of the trailer is set to
the depreciated value and we go on from there.
