RE: [A/S] A/S Airconditioning install...

Hi Jim,
Yep my 68 had an AC unit on it that was original according to the prior
owner. The old unit is in 2 parts, one outside and one inside connected
together with two copper tubes. There is also a fan shaft that passes
through a small opening in the roof. There are 2 small holes through the
roof of the trailer that the copper passes through and if I remember
right and opening for power. All in all I think there is 4 smallish
holes that pass through the top. When I placed the new unit on it is
very hard to cut the new 14" X 14" opening to cover the old holes, I did
have to make a slight patch to cover an old opening (hole) that was
outside the newly cut opening. I installed a Duo-Therm Penguin with the
Airstream drain pan that catches and passes the condensation through the
coach. This was hard to seal but I did get it to work.

I have a photo of the old AC unit on the trailer; it does not however
show these openings. WAM on the other list does have photos of this
opening.

Hope this helps,
