Hello all,
I use an analog phone inside my Airstream and it works great throughout
the country.  I have only had a no signal condition once or twice out in
the middle of knowhere during the last ten years.
I have had several digital models that did not work well unless you had
line of site to a cell tower (nearly!).
My phone is a tracfone and I got it because it works off of everyone
else's towers. You lose your privacy with a analog (and with most
digitals as well now) but I just watch what I say on it.
Another thing that might work for the people having trouble with their
phones would be to replace their Aluminum window screens with plastic
screen. That might help get the signal out as I know the signal would go
through the glass/herculite panes unless they had a metallic tint layer
applied.
