Steve that is a tough one!
I would think that the only place to put it would be in the back of the
van as far forward as you could.
The front mount you suggest would be a good place if you could find or
even if you needed the upgraded springs.
I would watch the temperature gauge when in hot weather with it up there
but you would probably be alright.
Watch parking as well. That would be a expensive bumper to crumple.
