I had my 1977 tank valves replaced last fall with no problems. I took 
it to a dealer in Tellamock OR. One tank was full & the other empty. 
They hooked the full one to a heater & burned it off that way. They 
replaced the valves & certified them for around $25 to $30 each. The 
quotes I got in N CA were at least twice that much. The manager of 
the shop did the work & commented how much these tanks cost new. I 
think they do alot of them there.
