Numbers are occasionally changed. When we joined, we were assigned 4404. 
Later, upon buying a trailer that had 17158 already (and firmly) affixed, 
we had our membership nr changed to that (previous holder released that 
nr). When we sold that trailer a year ago, we released those nrs and 
resumed our original 4404. the new owner of that trailer is now 17158, 
since we released it.

It is much easier to change those WBCCI numbers with the WBCCI than to 
change them on the trailer. After several years, the coating fades around 
the nrs and will look bad when the nrs are removed.

A friend who purchased a used MH last year picked a nr to fit the existing 
nrs. I don't remember the exact nrs there, or what he got, but it was 
something like originally 1352 and he asked for and got 11352. Much easier 
to change.

It is tough for guys to look you up in the membership listings, though, so 
you don't want to change often.
