Steve:  No not full timing - using it for weekends on a small hobby farm in 
SW Wisconsin - outside Viroqua Wisconsin - about 38 miles SW of La Crosse. 

Will try the roof vent and candle - will let you know  how it works out.  
I am concerned about rot also, if any of the moisture seeps into the walls, 
but they seem dry even though there is water in the window channels - was 
even thinking at one time if a small weep hole would work but figure now with 
the temps it would just freeze over.
