With your A/S being a 1999 model, I'm sure your UniVolt has been up 
graded. I think the problems were with the older units. I have a 1977 
that had a older UniVolt that didn't over charge my batteries. I just 
replaced the old batteries( 10 years old ) with new Optima Batteries 
that I hope will last 10 yrs. I did have the org UniVolt replaced on 
1-2-00. The new one is alot quieter then the old one.
