Howdy Stephen;
We have the black water flush, and we use it all the time.  We also 
use the sewer solutions to assist in the break-down of the tissue 
paper.  We have found that the tank sensors will get covered if we 
don't, and the result is poor readings on the tank monnitors.  They 
will read full when they aren't.

The flush makes sure the tank is empty of all remaiing papers and 
solids.  This really helps to keep odors and build up down.
