While you are rebuilding the bolt side of the lock, you might want to also 
have a good look at the catch side (or whatever it is called - the 
stationary part mounted in the door frame). Ours wore down on the way to 
Alaska last summer and we had the door pop open several times on rough 
roads (in spite of the dead-bolt) until I finally stopped at a hardware 
store and bought a simple "barrel" latch for it and discreetly installed it 
at the bottom of the door on the outside.

When we got home this past fall I took the catch out of the door frame and 
reinstalled it after rotating it half-way round - now maybe it will hold 
until we wear this side out also.

BTW, it is a _real_ PITA to have to bend that door back into shape after it 
has almost straightened itself out by banging against the side of the 
trailer at 55 MPH. Ask if you need to know how.
