Roy,
You bring up an interesting point.  I assume that A/S thoughts were 
to hinge the guards to allow you to clean behind them.  I haven't 
tried to do this yet, mostly because the side opposite the hinge 
requires a wrench to remove the nuts that secure that side..too much 
effort at this point and not enough dirt to clean.  I wonder why they 
didn't come up with some other means to secure this side?

One other person posted problems with the hinge pin.  I am concerned 
when I see things like hinge pins coming out and wonder if sometimes 
its better off not to mess with these things and not exercise these 
hinges.  

Hinge pins come out for reasons, of which I don't always know why.  
I'm sure its a physics thing.  I have a hinge pin on my door that 
started to work its way up.  When in Jackson Center I had the service 
center take care of this.  They said the realigned the door and they 
put some nice metal compound on the top of the hinge pin which sealed 
over and silvered the spot.  Now I notice that the pin is raising 
again.  Not much but the seal they placed is starting to bulge.  
Obviously this pin doesn't want to stay put.
