RE: [A/S] Cell phone internet hookups

Barbara,
Carl and I just got our first cellphone and are already accessing the Internet 
with it.  
First, you need a calling plan with enough minutes to allow you to surf.  We went 
with Verizon and got the National Plan because we are traveling full time all 
overthe country. For $35/mo we have 3000 minutes on the weekend and just 150 min. 
weekdays, so weekend is when we do all our surfing.
Second, you will need a tri-mode phone to be able to hook up your phone to a 
computer to do the I'net.
Third, you need to buy a 'data connectivity kit' from Verizon for the phone you 
have.  We paid $69.95 for the kit for our Audiovox 9100 phone - the kit includes 
the data cable and software.
Fourth, you need to be in a digital area when you connect to the I'Net.
We connect at 14400 baud and what a thrill.  Let me know if you have any questions.
