Granted, Michelin, did (does ?) have a substantial interest in rubber
plantations in Viet Nam.  However, they do have tire plants all over the
world, including the US.

Like it or not, they do know how to make radial tires.

Tires are one of the few things between your backside and the road. (along
with shock absorbers and brakes). Hence,  this is an area where quality is
the most important factor in my decision making.
