RE: [A/S] Safari/Excella (Was Blue Beret)
Hunter was speaking to Jack, but my 2 cents worth is:
Price was certainly a major factor in my being able to finally make, for
me at least, a fairly large decision, money wise. I wanted the Airstream
engineering & quality, but just couldn't see the big bucks. And I'm not
mechanically inclined to get into the large renovation programs that so
many on this list are capable of doing.
Weight was another consideration. As I can only afford to
own/drive/upkeep one vehicle at a time, I didn't want to have to drive a
large van or truck full time, only to be able to use its capacity when I
could hitch up to my camper. Just a personal thing with me.
The new Safari's give me all I want in my dream camper, without the cost
and (again, for me) other inconveniences the Excella's other models of
A/S's presented. And I think the popularity of the Safari's may prove my
point. The dealer where I bought my 27 footer can't keep them in stock.
