Yes it is.  You do not use car anti-freeze.  You use a special potable 
anti-freeze made especially for winterizing water line in a trailer.  It is 
sold by RV dealers and also in the RV section of Walmart or K-Mart stores.  

When I owned a motor home, the winterizing instructions said to put the 
potable anti-freeze into the fresh water tank and pump it through the system 
with the water pump.  All faucets were to be opened and there was a by-pass 
for the water heater.  The water heater was drained and left open, the 
anti-freeze was pumped through the system until it came out of the faucets 
and also up into the commode.  Then the pump was turned off and the faucets 
were left open.  I lived in CT at the time and never had a pipe freeze.

In the spring, the entire system was flushed with water and then a water 
treatment of bleach and water and then another flush of water.  I did this by 
again running the pump and putting the solutions in the fresh water tank.  
The tank was filled each time and then run through the system.  I removed the 
by-pass from the water heater for the bleach and water flush.  My fresh water 
system was then ready for another year.
