Look at it long term.... If you have it painted it will probably be the 
longest lasting solution, but might not be appealing to others if you wanted 
to sell it.

If you remove clear coat and polish, you will have to continue polishing.... 
it would look good!

If you replace the clear coat I think it will just happen again. 

I'd wait to see what Charlie Burke has to say..... his advice is always good.
