Re: [A/S] Classic Motorhome for sale

Yeah, I don't think i've seen anything over that either, maybe the
occasional cadillac, but they are only around 4500 even for the big
ones. I have however seen some pretty big trailers being
pulled. I know it's a long shot, and that if I really want to do this,
that I'll have to modify something or other.

It's interesting to me though, that my little 350 GMC powered van will
pull the trailer just fine, a little slow up the hills (without a run at
them) but adequate. The van is around 4K aas well, so
that's around 11K with a 350, now if we bump that up to say an old
cadillac 500 ( high compression - pre 71 I think) and throw in the
appropriate gearing. Large diameter exhaust. Might have to
sacrifice some top end speed as well, but I think it would be possible
with this setup. MPG wouldn't be there though.

Now if a diesel is used instead, well then we're able to crank it up a
notch. With an overdrive tranny for un fettered cruising (no trailer)
and knocking it down a notch for the towing aspect, who
needs to go 70 plus with 60 plus feet of camper(s). You know what, I
think that Wisconsin has an overall length limit' I'll have to look that
up. didn't someone post a link to a page that had this a
while ago?

Just some musings for now though.
