I'm not sure what issue you are asking about.  Up
through '95 there was a clear coat applied at the
factory.  Currently what ever the coating is today,
the panels arrive at the plant coated with a product
applied by Alcoa aluminum.  They are stacked one on
top of another with plastic separating each panel.

Our guide did not call the roof panels aluminum.  He
called them metal. I was too busy shooting pictures to
follow up with a question as to the metal type.  I saw
the roofing panels being built and they were already
painted white.  Once I get my pictures scanned I'll
post a picture of the roof being built.  Escentially
it is three pieces. A wide center piece and two
narrower pieces that attach length wise to each side
of the center piece.
