[A/S] Explorer as tow vehicle

My experience after a lot of towing is that power, combined with overall 
wheelbase length are the important issues when towing a trailer.

For instance, I tow a 23' enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer.  
Remember: the best snowmobiling weather is the worst driving weather.

I used to tow it with a Ford Bronco.  The trailer threw that Bronco all 
over the road; I was constantly working the wheel to compensate.

After moving to an Expedition, the problem was greatly diminished.

With a Suburban, the problem is nonexistent.

Engine displacement, power, and rear axle ratios were comparable.  The 
major change was length, and when length went up, towing was easier and 
control improved.

Explorers are not 'long' vehicles at all.

One man's opinion; your results may vary.  Airstreams are much more 
manageable than snowmobile trailers, and you typically don't tow an 
Airstream in snowmobile conditions (yes, there will be
stories...).  But the basic premise still applies.
