The circular parts are the collars that keep the jack screws on the hitch at the top.

I have to agree that the tongue twister is really a great thing.  Very 
delicate though, and vulnerable to mud, sand, etc. in the works.  Gotta 
keep them clean and lubricated.  I think a more
expensive model, better sealed against the "grittys" would be the most 
fun you could have with your clothes on.
