I recall in past that Hunter said she had a friend that replaced 2 
transmissions in a suburban, probably from towing in OD.  I have 6.2 
with 700R4 tranny and used to tow a 24' tradewind in OD, but had to 
replace the transmission.  I am not sure the towing caused the failure, 
but it was expensive.  We now have a 31' AS and I never tow it in OD, 
yes the noise level is greater and the fuel economy is less, but the 
memory of the $1,000 transmission job provides a lot of noise tolerance. 
 Just today, we acquired a 6.5 with same transmission and I am eager to 
hook it to the AS, but I will tow only in 3d gear.  I understand that an 
after market fix is available, which locks up the torgue converter and 
makes it OK to tow in OD, but I have no personal experience with that.
