Re: [A/S] towing without brakes

Hi
In California, according with the handout the DMV gives on "Recreational
Vehicles and Trailers" (form DL-648)
All trailers made after Dec 31 1955 that have a gross weight of 1500 lbs or
more, require brakes and a Breakaway Switch.
Trailer brakes do more than just help to stop a trailer, they also aid in
controlling trailer Sway. If possible I would try to get the brakes atleast
working before you tow the trailer if you can. Better to be safe than have a
mishap with your newly aquire A/S.
